Not only can you download an application from anywhere and drag and drop into iTunes. Jailbroken iPod be done. If not, you will say of iTunes have not verified this claim.

1) on the iPod. Install an application called "Installous"
From there you can download free applications ...

idk if u can use LimeWire, but u can jailbreak your iPod and get the application installious application Cydia applications and subscription free
